DJMS though blackgaze has been a mixed bag in recent years, I'm glad I can go back to this album and just listen to the blissful sound of this amazing project Favorite track: Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde.

deedish It’s dark outside and you’re driving home from the concert you accidentally went to on the wrong day and ended up seeing some crappy metal core band and are now re considering your whole entire romantic relationship of the last 5 months and Ciel Errant starts playing and tears start to form and all the sudden you realize you need to end it because things just won’t work out….

glennandjo Such a beautiful, flowing album... absolutely love it. Favorite track, whilst hard to pick, would have to be Tir Nan Og. I think everyone has a magical place in their life, and this song takes me there. The ebb and flow of the piano always brings a smile to my face. Favorite track: Tir Nan Og.

Within a short amount of time, Alcest's debut "Souvenirs d'un autre monde" (2007) has become a standard work of the post-black-metal movement and is already considered as one of the genre's indispensable classics. With his application of Slowdive and Yann Tiersen to Burzum, multi-instrumentalist Neige has created a musical concept for himself that is nothing less than revolutionary - and the actual realisation of this concept on "Souvenirs d'un autre monde" has made for a peerless landmark. No other title would have done justice to this debut album, as Alcest's songs really are souvenirs from another world.
